Games session 2004-09-04

We gathered at 11 in the morning and I used about an hour to explain the rules and describe all the expansions. We then played until 10 in the evening, breaking only on hour for food. 9 hours of sheer Mega-Talisman fun and chaos.

At most we where 15 people playing but at the end only 8 of kept the flame up and battled for the last points. 73 turns later the game ended and the scores where settled. I didn't come last but it was close.

The game was fun and not as slow as I feared it would be. We used a large whiteboard with our names on it to keep track of whose turn it was. We also used small notices like "Miss next turn" or to keep track of things like toad-turns.

Here's a view of the room with the 4 tables used to keep all the boards.

Another angle of the same room. The fifth table is used to keep the counters, flags and rules. You can also see the 6th table below the whiteboard. This is the "Put drinks and food only here" table. Anyone caught putting a drink or something edible on the game tables lose one turn.

Main table. Boards used is from top left to bottom right: Castle, Sewer, Warlock's Maze, City, Pyramid of Kulkencamun, Far Outer region, the Main board, Black's Tavern, Mountain Pass, Dungeon and Faerieland.

Table 2 and 3. Boards you can see are Space Hulk, Black Tower, Paranoia, Sea Realm, Troll Mountains, Desert, Village, Sherwood Forest, Hell, Timescape, Realm of Cthulhu, Realm of Chaos and Harem.

The small 4th table. Boards here are Atlantis, Archipelago, Tournament, Talisman Island and Diablo.

A close-up of the main board. You can see all the small flags telling you where you can head of onto an expansion board.

Just a neat picture of the main table seen from the eyes of a character. The flags worked nice. No more confusion on travel and missed expansions

Characters and odd cards like Transformation and Contracts where kept here. Also a separate table for rules, counters and flags.
