Q: What are the 2 blank Nurgle cards for?
A: Those were promotion cards to create your own Chaos Reward.
Q: The Pink Horror rolls 2 dice for its Strength. Do you then
roll a third die for Combat and add it to the total?
A: No. The Pink Horror rolls 2 dice and adds them together. This total is
the Pink Horror's total Combat score.
Q: The Champion of Khorne gains a Chaos Reward of Khorne
if he defeats another Character in Combat and takes a Life. Do you still gain
a Reward if your opponent prevents the lose of Life with armor or a spell?
A: No.
Q: The Seductress can Seduce Strangers to become her
Follower but she doesn't gain their benefit. What does this mean?
A: When a Stranger is Seduced to become her follower, they can NOT
be encountered. For example, if she Seduced the Peddler as a Follower,
no one can buy objects from him. The Seductress can still sacrifice the Peddler
as a Dark Offering or at the Vampire's Castle.
Q: The Demon Prince characters start in the Realm of Chaos.
Can that include any space on the Realm of Chaos board and the Realm of Chaos
in Timescape?
A: No. The Realm of Chaos refers the the Realm of Chaos Region.
This is the center space on the Realm of Chaos board.
Q: Does the Possessed character really have 1 Strength and
1 Craft?
A: Yes! 7 is the most common number rolled with two dice because
it has the most possible combinations. Starting with 1 Strength balances out
the fact that the Possessed could possibly roll a total of 13 Strength on his
first turn!
Q: The Cursed Idol says "you must take it". If I
defeat another Character in battle and choose to take an item, do I have to
take the Idol?
A: No. You must take the Idol only if: you draw it from the Realm of Chaos deck.
Q: The Cursed Idol states that it subtracts 1 from ALL of your
dice rolls. What happens if you roll 1 for your movement?
A: If you can add to your roll for movement, you may continue minus 1 space.
Otherwise you must stay on the space without encountering it. Remember, you
can only encounter spaces or Characters you land on.
Q: If I have the Cursed Idol, do I subtract 1 from my rolls
when I am rolling the dice for Enemy Monster's Strength?
A: No. You only subtract 1 when rolling for your CHARACTER. This includes
encountering Strangers, board spaces, Events, and Spells.
Q: If I sacrifice the Cursed Idol as a dark offering, does
it still subtract one from my die roll while I'm praying?
A: No, because you are sacrificing (discarding) it before you roll the die.
Q: Can you throw the Globe of Change at yourself to gain a
Mark of Chaos?
A: Yes.
Q: What if there is a stand-off with the Whim of the Gods?
A: There is no effect. Discard the Event immediately.
Q: If I defeat a sleeping Dragon Ogre, does he count towards
5 strength points or 10?
A: 10.
Q: I rolled a 3 on the Inevitable City and drew 2 Monster cards
and an Event. Can I still encounter them in any order I wish? Do I add
the Monsters' Strength together?
A: Yes. No. You chose which order you encounter the cards but you may only encounter
one card at a time. If you draw more than one Enemy card you MUST encounter
them separately. If you fail to defeat an Enemy card your turn ends immediately.
Q: The Demonologist can add 1 to his roll while Praying. Can he ever become
a Chaos Spawn?
A: Yes. Marks of Chaos subtract 1 from your die roll while praying at Shrines
or Altars so it is possible to roll below zero!
Q: The Demon Prince Characters do not have any starting attributes. What
if they "heal up to their starting quota"?
A: Demon Princes can only Heal one Life at a time. If they are healed up to
their starting quota they only heal ONE life. However, there is no limit to
the amount of lives they may heal.
For example, a Demon Prince Character has 4 lives. He casts a Heal Spell on
himself and gains one life bringing his total to 5.
Q: I prayed at a patron god's Shrine or Altar and rolled a 2-3 which makes
me sacrifice another Dark Offering or lose a life. Do I have to pray again and
roll the die?
A: Yes.
Q: How many times can I pray at a patron god's Shrine or Altar?
A: As many times as you wish but only on your turn and only on the turn you
land on that space.
Q: If I am a Champion or Demon Prince of a patron god and land on another
patron god's Shrine or Altar, do I have to pray since I must sacrifice a Dark
Offering?
A: No. You may never pray at another patron god's shrine or altar.
Q: Can I choose which Spell to take from the Winds of Magic?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you look at the Spells under the Winds of Magic or Adventure cards
under the Herd Stone?
A: Yes.
Q: Can I gain a Strength point for defeating the Minotaur Champion at the
Herdstone?
A: No.
Errata:
Chaos Champions:
You may add 1 to your roll when praying at your patron god's Shrine or Altar.
Banished Noble:
You are unaffected by the Leper or Pestilence.
Alternative Rules:
Chaos Rewards:
You may refuse to receive a Chaos Reward (discard it) but your patron god's
wrath takes three of your lives immediately!
Hints & Tips:
The Realm of Chaos is a dangerous place. Don't enter until you have sufficient Strength.
Try to take advantage of chaos Altars since they allow you to pray without making a Dark Offering. Remember, if you aren't a Champion or Demon Prince of a patron god, you may pray at ANY Shrine or Altar.
If you have weak attributes and want to enter the Realm of Chaos to pray, the Vale of Creatures or Bastion Stair spaces are fairly safe. Chances are probably 50% that you won't roll under your Craft or Strength and draw a card. This could save you from drawing a really nasty enemy card.
Load up on Talismans at the Warlock's Cave. Talismans add one to your roll while praying at Shrines and Altars. Talismans are a quick way to become a Champion or Demon Prince.
Deadly Combinations:
Horse & Chaos Altars:
Enter the Inner Chaos Waste region if you have the horse. You can then add to
your movement to land on an Altar and pray for free! This is a quick and easy
way to become a chaos champion without spending all those dark sacrifices. This
only works until you become a chaos champion. After that, you only want to land
on your patron god's Altar or Shrine.
Druid & Lash of Slaanesh:
Once the Druid gets the Lash of Slaanesh travel back to the Outer Region. Sacrifice
all your life except one point to put strength counters on the Lash. Then change
your alignment and land on the Graveyard or Chapel to heal. If you have the
Horse this works exceptionaly well because it allows you to jump back and forth
between the Graveyard and Chapel. In a couple of turns you could turn the Lash
into a 10 point weapon and the beautiful thing is that it is a chaos gift so
it can never be stolen!
Demon Prince and the Realm of Chaos space
A Demon Prince Character can lose a turn in the Realm of Chaos space to Heal
one Life. Since there is no limit to the number of lives they can heal, they
can gain one life every turn and become near invincible!
