Mystic - White Dwarf #115

Jeff and I spent a while searching for suitable miniatures to use for the Mystic, and then Jeff suggested we use the Heroclix Iceman figure as the "ethereal" part and all that was left was to find a suitable "host" for him.

Looking at the Tactical Miniatures website, I saw this hostage figure and thought he looked a bit like he was meditating.

After dismembering the Iceman figure with a craft knife, I replaced his limbs in a suitable pose.

I cut off the hostages hands and resited them in an upright position so he looked as if he was praying or meditating. I swapped heads with a spare Iceman figure I had so at least the two figures resembled each other.

I decided that I would have the Iceman figure painted as he kept reminding me too much of Iceman!

Basing the host on a standard Warhammer base I thought it would be a good idea to have the ethereal mystic on a slightly larger base so that they could be separated for when the Mystic comes into his own.

After cutting the base I positioned the ethereal figure with brass wire.

As you can see below, they fit together quite well, even though he looks like he is in pain. I guess ethereal adventuring really takes it out of you!
