Talisman

Talisman is Games Workshop's version of the old race game. In it each player takes one character model and roams around the Talisman board fighting monsters and collecting treasure. Once the feels that his character is strong enough, he heads off to the Dragon's Tower to vanquish the Dragon and win the game.

The game uses some fantastic Citadel Miniatures as playing pieces.

There are expansions to the basic game which add additional "lands" or boards with new treasures and monsters to add variety to the game. One of the expansions adds a 3D card tower and a model of the Dragon!

History

Games Workshop has printed many versions of Talisman, with the most recent being the Third Edition. However, this version was out of print. Never fear! Games Workshop will be bringing the base game back into production shortly. For more information, contact Games Workshop.

Variant

Below is a variant Character Card for Talisman, Third Edition. This card features a fairly advanced Cave Squig for those who like to play more straight forward and brutish characters. A cave squig is, at best a semi-intelligent mouth on legs who only knows that he can eat things. This is, of course, by no means official! Thanks to Sam Wallace for the picture of the squig!
