As (hopefully) most of you will know, a year ago those generous people at Nomad Games made a special Charity Character Pack available for Talisman: Digital Edition available, where all proceeds go to SpecialEffect, a fantastic charity that helps make video game accessible to disabled gamers.
Well, news came in this week that the Shaman character has netted an astonishing £10,000 for the charity and in the words of Barry Floyd, Operations Coordinator at SpecialEffect, it will help “keep our team of Occupational Therapists and technology specialists on the road and helping more people with disabilities to enjoy the fun and inclusivity that video games bring”.
So, if you haven’t already bought the charity character, now would be a good time to do so, and if you already have you could always buy it again and gift it (gifting only on Steam) or just throw a donation the way of SpecialEffect using the link below!
There is also a great initiative being run by SpecialEffect called One Special Day, which is on July the 15th. They’ve asked game developers to get on board and donate proceeds from sales of their games, DLC or other activities for that day.
In addition to this, they are running an auction via eBay with rare and collectible game-related goodies which will all go to the charity, and give you a chance to grab some great gaming memorabilia!
